Welcome to The Pinder Centre!
The Centre is a wonderful and unique centre of excellence in Hampshire for the provision of a range of physiotherapy treatments for patients from the region and beyond. We welcome everyone from babies to much older people, and can treat a very wide range of medical conditions both short- and longer term.
Our website will be regularly updated and refreshed with news, so do please keep in contact and let us know what you think. For further detailed information, please see the links below on ‘Treatments’ and ‘Further Information’.
Do come and visit us both on-line and in person. We all look forward to meeting you.

History – a little about the Centre’s beginnings Miss Pinder built the pool for for the use of local children, having herself suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and being sympathetic to the needs of children in the community with similar problems. She invited neighbours and friends to share the pool, and in particular disabled children who benefitted from its warmth and her kindness. Before that, the pool was in fact a stable! The Centre was officially opened in 1973, by Princess Alexandra. Miss Pinder certainly left all of us here, patients and staff both present and past, a great legacy in terms of her vision and generosity in setting up the Centre. She died some years ago, and her brother John is very glad to hear news of the Centre’s work and progress – I keep him regularly updated. |
